01 — Overview
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Naam Jap is developed by Aanshi k Papa as a premium, professional spiritual companion for dedicated seekers. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information when you use our app.
The most important thing to understand about Naam Jap is its core architectural principle: it is entirely serverless. The app has no backend, no accounts, and no cloud infrastructure. Every byte of your spiritual data lives solely on your device.
Plain English Summary: We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal data or your spiritual practice data. Everything stays on your phone.
By using Naam Jap, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address listed in the Contact section.

02 — Data We Collect
What the App Stores (On Your Device)
Naam Jap stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is never accessible to us or any third party.
- Mantra & Chant Counts: Your tap logs, total chant counts, and daily session records.
- Mala Progress: Completed Mala counts automatically calculated at every 108 chants.
- Sankalp (Vow/Target) Data: Your spiritual goals, target chant counts, start dates, and progress towards completion.
- Insights & Statistics: Daily averages, lifetime totals, streaks, and milestone records generated from your local data.
- Profile Picture: If you choose to set one, your selected photo is stored in the app's private local storage.
- App Preferences: Your selected language (from 10 Indian languages), chosen theme (Zen, Material, or Digital), and other UI settings.
- First-Run Flags: A simple flag to know whether the app has been launched before, to show onboarding appropriately.
All of the above is stored using Shared Preferences and local JSON files in your device's private internal storage — inaccessible to other apps and never synced to any server.

Your Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Location / GPS
Device Identifiers
IP Address
Analytics / Tracking
Crash Reports
Usage Telemetry
Contacts
Microphone / Camera
Calendar
Biometric Data
Payment Info
Social Profiles
The app does not contain any analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting tools, or any third-party tracking libraries. There are no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no fingerprinting.
🔑
04 — App Permissions
What the App Asks Access To
Naam Jap requests the minimum permissions necessary. Here is exactly why each permission is needed:
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Used only to save and restore local backup files. Your data never leaves the device.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
Used by the profile picture feature (image_picker) to let you select a photo from your gallery. The image is stored locally.
VIBRATE
Used for haptic feedback on each tap of the mantra counter — a key part of the professional counting experience.
INTERNET (optional)
Declared for Google Play compliance only. The app functions 100% offline and makes no network requests during normal use.
No permission is used beyond its stated purpose. You may deny optional permissions and the core counting functionality will continue to work perfectly.

05 — Data Storage
How & Where Your Data is Stored
Naam Jap uses a two-tier local storage approach to ensure your data is always fast to access and completely private:
- Shared Preferences: Lightweight settings such as language selection, theme, and first-run status are stored as key-value pairs in Android/iOS shared preferences — a standard, sandboxed storage mechanism.
- Local JSON Files: Your mantra records, tap logs, Sankalp data, and insights are stored as JSON files inside the app's private internal storage directory. This directory is not accessible to other apps on your device.
Your data is stored exclusively on your physical device. There is no cloud sync, no remote database, and no external server of any kind.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be removed from your device unless you have created a backup beforehand.
🔄
06 — Backup & Recovery
Keeping Your Spiritual Progress Safe
Naam Jap provides two powerful tools to ensure your years of spiritual practice are never lost:
-
Recovery Code: Tapping "Copy Recovery Code" converts your entire mantra database into a Base64-encoded string and copies it to your clipboard. You can paste this code in a notes app, send it to yourself via email, or store it anywhere you trust. When you set up a new device, simply paste the code into Naam Jap to restore everything instantly.
-
Local File Backup: You can generate a physical backup file saved to your device storage. This file can be manually copied, moved, or synced to any cloud storage service of your choosing (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) — entirely under your control.
Important: When you use the Share Achievement feature (share_plus), only the achievement text or image you choose to share is sent to the selected app (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.). No other app data is included. Sharing is always an explicit user action.
🤝
07 — Data Sharing
We Never Sell or Share Your Data
Aanshi k Papa does not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third party — ever.
Because Naam Jap is serverless and collects no personal data, there is literally nothing to share. We have no servers receiving your data, so there is nothing we could hand over even if we were legally compelled to.
- No Advertisers: The app contains no advertising of any kind.
- No Analytics Partners: We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any similar service.
- No Third-Party SDKs with data access: The only third-party packages used are
share_plus, image_picker, and flutter_launcher_icons — none of which collect or transmit any data.
- No Law Enforcement Disclosure: As we hold no user data on our systems, we cannot provide user data in response to any legal request.
👶
08 — Children's Privacy
Use by Minors
Naam Jap is a spiritual practice tool suitable for all ages. Because the app does not collect any personal information from any user — regardless of age — it complies with children's privacy regulations including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and similar laws by design.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children's information.
Parents and guardians are welcome to review and use the app alongside children for spiritual practice.

09 — Policy Changes
Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app (e.g., a notice on first launch after the update) and update the effective date at the top of this page.
Our core commitment — that your data stays on your device and is never shared — will not change. Any future features that involve external data transmission will be clearly disclosed, will require your explicit consent, and will be entirely optional.
Continuing to use Naam Jap after any policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
